Police were called to the scene about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday and notified wildlife personnel, Verna said.
A Monrovia police robotic device was deployed to assist wildlife personnel in safely locating the animal, Verna said.
The mountain lion was tranquilized and removed by wildlife personnel, and was taken to a facility to be treated for an injury possibly caused by another animal, Verna said.
