Man arrested in New Year’s Day killing in Lake Forest
SANTA ANA — A 25-year-old man was behind bars Monday on suspicion of killing a fellow Lake Forest resident in an alley on New Year’s Day.
Christian Vidal DeLeon was arrested Friday and booked on suspicion of fatally shooting 22-year-old Nathan Corado, said Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
DeLeon was being held on $1 million bail.
Corado was shot about 1:25 a.m. Jan. 1 near Second Street and Village Drive in Lake Forest and pronounced dead at an area hospital a short time later.
Investigators would not disclose the possible motive or relationship between the two, Braun said.
