Man shot twice in Santa Ana carjacking; suspect is on the loose

A man was in the hospital Tuesday morning with gunshot wounds he suffered in the course of a carjacking in Santa Ana.

Officers responded at 9:30 p.m. Monday to the 500 block of East Central Avenue and found the victim, who had been shot twice, the Santa Ana Police Department said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, police said.

A description of the shooter or shooters was not immediately available.

It was unclear what type of vehicle was taken.
