Which are the 10 cities sheltering the most homeless people?
The 2019 point-in-time count tried to identify where the county’s homeless are staying and whether they are in either emergency or transitional shelter housing.
Here are the cities sheltering the most homeless people, according to the survey released today, April 24:
1. Santa Ana: 939
2. Anaheim: 508
3. Tustin: 264
4. Fullerton: 165
5. Orange: 148
6. Buena Park: 145
7. Placentia: 108
8. Laguna Beach: 76
9. Garden Grove: 62
10. Huntington Beach: 60
Fourteen cities showed no homeless sheltered, though some have contributed funding toward shelter programs in their region.
They are Brea, Cypress, La Habra, La Palma, Villa Park, Yorba Linda, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Juan Capistrano.
Three cities — Los Alamitos, Yorba Linda, Aliso Viejo — had just one homeless person counted; Villa Park had none.
