Orange County residents show their cities some love and care
The annual Love Our Cities campaign had a new participant this weekend, as residents in Yorba Linda joined the army of volunteers who headed out on Saturday, May 4, into several north Orange County cities to tackle dozens of community service projects.
In Yorba Linda, the biggest project was fixing up the Philip Paxton Equestrian Center.
Across the area there were groups of volunteers sprucing up schools and parks, helping nonprofits, even penning notes to the elderly.
Fullerton was the first Orange County city to join the Love Our Cities effort, in 2014. Since then, OC United has taken over organizing and helping behind the scenes as more cities joined.
OC United now lists Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Fullerton, La Habra, La Mirada, Orange, Placentia, Tustin and Yorba Linda among its participating cities, though not all held service days May 4.
