2 OC sheriff’s deputies injured in confrontation at La Mirada home

by in News

Two Orange County sheriff’s deputies serving a restraining order were injured Monday night, and a man in his 30s hospitalized, after an encounter at a home in La Mirada.

The deputies arrived around 8:40 p.m. at the home in the 8100 block of Barrington Lane, responding to reports of a family disturbance, as well as a request to assist with a restraining order regarding a son of the people who lived at the residence, Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Joses Walehwa said.

The son, who is in his 30s, confronted the deputies, the sergeant said. The deputies were treated for moderate injuries, Walehwa added, while the son was being sedated at a hospital as of early Tuesday.

The deputies were treated at a hospital and released. The Sheriff’s Department did not say what injuries they suffered, or how they received them.

The incident occurred in a small portion of La Mirada patrolled by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
