4 arrested in Fountain Valley sting on suspicion of selling AR-15 rifles and drugs
A sting operation in Fountain Valley on Monday, July 15, led to the arrest of three men and one minor suspected of selling drugs and guns.
Authorities began monitoring a suspect earlier this month who had allegedly been advertising AR-15 rifles and narcotics for sale, Fountain Valley Police Department officials said in a statement. Detectives made arrangements to purchase a gun and various narcotics for $1,200, and set up a meeting at a pre-determined location at 4 p.m. on Monday.
Officers arrested three men and one minor who arrived to carry out the deal, police said. Two AR-15s, one of which was loaded with 10 rounds of .223 caliber ammunition, along with 65 Xanax pills, 25 Adderall pills, three bottles of Codeine syrup, four doses of LSD and 118 grams of marijuana were recovered from the vehicle they rode in.
All four people were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy, transportation and possession of narcotics for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed and possession of an assault weapon, police said. The three adults taken into custody Monday were identified as Anaheim residents Jesus Sanchez, 22, Ivan Hernandez, 19, and Francisco Roldan, 20. They were booked into the Orange County Jail and held in lieu of $45,000 bail. The minor, also from Anaheim, was booked into Orange County Juvenile Hall.
