Pedestrian struck by 2 cars while crossing Fountain Valley street
A man crossing a Fountain Valley street was struck Tuesday night by two cars and in grave condition in a hospital, police said.
He was crossing Harbor Boulevard near Lilac Avenue at around 11:36 p.m. when hit by a passing car, said Fountain Valley Sgt. Jennifer Pratt.
The man was not in a crosswalk, Pratt said.
The driver stopped and tried to flag down help.
“Another vehicle unfortunately struck the pedestrian again,” the sergeant said.
That second vehicle, a large SUV, did not stop and was being sought by police.
The driver of the first vehicle was cooperative with investigators. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a factor on the part of the first driver. Pratt said the driver of the second vehicle may not be aware a man was struck.
Police asked that anyone with information on the case call them at 714-593-4484.
