Man killed in deputy-involved shooting in Stanton
A man died in a deputy-involved shooting in Stanton on Wednesday evening, Aug. 21.
Deputies responded to reports of a family dispute in the 10000 block of Sycamore Avenue at about 7:30 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Carrie Braun said. A deputy-involved shooting later took place at the residence.
A man described as a suspect in his 50s was struck by gunfire and died at the scene of the shooting, Braun said. His identity was not immediately released.
No other injuries were reported.

Details regarding what led up to the shooting were not immediately available. It wasn’t immediately disclosed if the man who was shot had been armed.
