Two California Highway Patrol officers and two others suffered minor injuries early Friday morning, Sept. 27, when their cruiser was struck by a vehicle on the southbound 405 Freeway.

The crash occurred about 2:50 a.m. just north of the Bushard Street exit and involved four vehicles, said Monica Posada, a CHP officer and spokeswoman.

A vehicle collided with two other vehicles, sending one of them, a Prius, skidding into the black-and-white.

The two officers had been parked in their cruiser in closed-off lanes for Caltrans work.

All southbound lanes of the 405 were closed, with traffic diverted off of Warner Avenue. Just past 7:30 a.m., the two right lanes were reopened, while the two left lanes remained closed.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, CHP Officer Daniel Howard said.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
