Son of former Angels star arrested on suspicion of assault

The 45-year-old son of former Angels baseball star Doug DeCinces has been arrested in Orange County on suspicion of assault and other charges.

Timothy DeCinces was arrested Sunday, Sept. 22 by Newport Beach police.

In a criminal complaint, Orange County prosecutors accused him of assaulting a woman on Sept. 19. Officials said he inflicted injury on the unidentified woman, and threatened her.

Prosecutors also claimed that DeCinces tried to solicit a woman for prostitution, according to court documents.

Other details of the incidents were not immediately available.

DeCinces was booked into jail and posted $500,000 bail.

DeCinces, who works as a real estate adviser, was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 24, but the hearing was canceled according to Orange County Superior Court records.
