1 dead after car hits fence, tree, pole
A 25-year-old Indio man died Friday night after his car veered off the road and hit a power pole and date tree, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
Fermin Rodriguez Figueroa died at 8:24 p.m. Friday, shortly after the accident, the coroner’s office said in a news release.
Rodriguez was driving south on Dillon Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his sedan and collided with the pole and tree near Silver Oak Drive. The vehicle then drove over a barbed-wire fence, authorities said.
