14-year-old boy struck by pickup

FOUNTAIN VALLEY A 14-year-old boy sustained life-threatening injuries Saturday night after being hit by a pickup truck at Euclid Street, police reported.
At 8:53 p.m., the Fountain Valley police responded to a traffic collision at Euclid Street and Ellis Avenue. A male pedestrian, 14, was one of the involved parties in the accident. He was transported to UCI Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The boy was running westbound across Euclid Street and was struck by a 2007 Ford F-150, which was traveling southbound on Euclid in the fast lane, according to police.
The collision is under investigation, police said. A cause has not been determined.
