Motorcyclist badly hurt in freeway crash

A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries on the southbound 57 freeway near Imperial Highway after colliding with a van, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported to the CHP at 8:23 a.m.

CHP officer Denise Quesada said paramedics performed CPR at the scene of the crash. The motorcyclist was unresponsive and did not have a pulse, Quesada said.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital, Quesada said.

A SigAlert was called at 8:34 a.m. Lanes were clear by 9:01 a.m.
