Boy, 2, chokes to death on grape
A 2-year-old Hesperia boy choked to death on a grape despite attempts by police and paramedics to save him, San Bernardino County coroner’s officials announced this morning.
Savino Lopez began choking while riding in a car about 12:10 p.m. Wednesday along Bear Valley Road in Hesperia.
A relative parked the car and summoned paramedics. A San Bernardino County deputy sheriff arrived first and began CPR until paramedics arrived and removed the large purple grape, officials said in a written statement.
The child was taken to Desert Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
