Hit-and-run on freeway sends one to hospital
“Officers are investigating crash; one person injured.”
SANTA ANA – The northbound carpool lane on the 405 freeway is expected to be closed for about 30 minutes while officers investigate a felony hit-and-run crash, authorities said.
One person was taken to a local hospital after a green Jeep crashed into the center divider of the freeway, just north of Harbor Boulevard exit, said California Highway Patrol officer Denise Quesada.
Their injuries were not immediately known.
An unidentified vehicle is believed to have been involved in the collision but fled the scene, she said.
Officers are investigating whether the vehicle made contact with the Jeep, or if it caused the vehicle to swerve without making contact, Quesada said.
