Woman left to die in street identified
GARDEN GROVE A woman who died in the street Wednesday afternoon after an apparent hit and run has been identified as Hwa Rhee, 78, of Garden Grove.
At 5:34 p.m. Wednesday, police and paramedics responded to a call of a person down in a westbound lane of Garden Grove Blvd., at the intersection with Sungrove St.
A Garden Grove police officer was the first to arrive on scene, and gave the woman CPR, along with an off-duty police officer who was passing by, police said.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the woman dead.
A witness saw the woman walking on the north side of the street minutes before the collision. When he came back a few minutes later, he saw the woman lying in the street, and a silver, four-door Ford F-150 pickup truck with chrome rims, chrome bumpers, and tinted windows speeding away.
