Santa Ana detectives seek help finding parolee suspected of striking 3 police vehicles
Santa Ana police asked the public’s help this week in finding a parolee suspected of stealing a pickup truck then hitting three police vehicles outside a motel during his escape.
He was caught on surveillance video in the parking lot of the Pueblo Motel, at 1501 N. Harbor Blvd., during the Monday, May 4 incident, police said.
At about 11 a.m. gang detectives tried to contact 23-year-old Maximiliano Osorio, Santa Ana police said: He was inside a double-cab truck and stepped on the gas and sped toward detectives and other bystanders on his way to leaving the motel’s parking lot.
Surveillance video shows the truck driving out of the lot before striking three police vehicles on Harbor and escaping.
The stolen truck was later found in Garden Grove with 100 grams of methamphetamine inside, police said.
Osorio was described by police as Hispanic, 5-feet-9 and weighing about 180 pounds. He has a medium build, short brown hair and brown eyes.
At the time, he was on parole for an assault with a deadly weapon conviction.
Police asked that anyone with information about Osorio contact Detective David Thai at dthai@santa-ana.org. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-847-6227.
