Santa Ana police investigate death of man found stabbed in apartment courtyard

Santa Ana police were investigating the death of a man found stabbed multiple times Sunday afternoon.

It was shortly after 5 p.m. when police were called to assist Orange County Fire Authority personnel with a wounded man in an apartment complex in the 4100 block of West 5th Street, Santa Ana police said Monday.

Officers found him in a courtyard. Paramedical attempted life-saving measures and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

During the investigation, officers were told by witnesses that the man had been in a violent encounter with another person. They found a crime scene in the complex.

The man’s name had not been released. Police said the motive for the attack was under investigation, with no arrest yet reported.
