Coroner’s investigators have released the name of a 25-year-old Desert Hot Springs woman who was killed this morning during a high-speed rollover wreck near there.
Giselle Y. Phillips died at the scene of the 3 a.m. accident along Indian Avenue, a fifth of a mile north of 13th Avenue.
She was driving about 80 mph when the silver 2003 Cadillac GTS drifted from the southbound lanes across the northbound lanes and onto the road shoulder where it overturned and slammed into a Southern California Edison utility pole, according to California Highway Patrol Officer John Quintero.
Phillips was not wearing safety belts, Quintero said. There’s no evidence that alcohol or drugs played any role in the accident, he said.
The street was re-opened to traffic about 6:20 a.m.
