Girl, 8, hit by car, dies

An 8-year-old Rialto girl died at Loma Linda University Medical Center Thursday afternoon a day after she was struck by a car while crossing an intersection in Rialto.

Kiayejah Greenwood died at 3:10 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County Coroner.

She and another girl were crossing the intersection of Walnut and Alice avenues in Rialto while walking to school at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday.

Paramedics responded and the girl was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton and later transferred to the Loma Linda hospital.

Information on the other girl’s condition was not available.

Colton Police are investigating the incident.
