Motorcyclist killed in I-215 wreck
A traffic wreck has killed a motorcyclist and blocked all northbound lanes of I-215 near the boundary line between San Bernardino and Riverside counties, according to the California Highway Patrol Web site and fire officials.
The wreck was reported at 6:54 a.m. just south of Iowa Avenue where the motorcycle hit the back end of another vehicle, according to initial reports.
A SigAlert was issued at 7:23 a.m. because of the wreck near Iowa Avenue, with no estimates on when the freeway lanes will be reopened.
“It’s backed up to 14th Street (in Riverside) — about 8-½ miles,” CHP Officer Jaci Parent said about 7:35 a.m. “They’ve had all lanes blocked for about 30 minutes.”
