Woman Charged In Hit-And-Run Death Of Motorcyclist

A Los Angeles woman was charged Wednesday in the hit-and-run death of a motorcyclist last month.

Jessica Alejandra Aba, 21, is accused of colliding with motorcyclist Federico Porras on Aug. 3 at Marianna Avenue and Valley Boulevard.

Porras was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Aba was arrested after the LAPD received a tip, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

She is due back at the downtown Los Angeles courthouse on Oct. 15 for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require her to stand trial on one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident and one misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter.

If convicted, she faces a maximum five-year term in state prison, according to prosecutors.
