Mandatory evacuations ordered for Forest Falls due to fast-moving brush fire
A fast-moving brush fire in the San Bernardino Mountains has forced authorities to issue a mandatory evacuation order for Forest Falls.
The order, which covers the entire Forest Falls Valley community, went into effect shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Friday, with authorities asking all residents to immediately leave the area.
An evacuation center has been opened on the Inland Leaders Charter School campus at 12375 California Street in Yucaipa.
The Valley fire started about 1:30 p.m. Friday and quickly burned more than 50 acres near Highway 38 and Valley of the Falls Drive.
