Bicyclist fatally injured in Stanton traffic collision identified
Authorities released the identity of a man who was fatally struck by a vehicle on Monday, Oct. 8 in Stanton.
Tam Nguyen, 79, of Anaheim was riding an electric bicycle near the intersection of Cerritos and Magnolia avenues when he was hit by an automobile sometime before 1:50 p.m. Paramedics transferred him to UC Irvine Medical Center, where he later died as a result of his injuries, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Tony Bommarito.

The motorist involved in the collision initially drove a short distance away from the crash, but returned and was interviewed by authorities, according to Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. She added that deputies do not believe the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the incident.
