by in News

These purr-ific critters are with Compassionate Animal Rescue for Medical Aid, a Mission Viejo-based group that rescues sick and injured animals. Founded by veterinary professionals, CARMA provides care and healing and finds homes for the animals in its care. These cats are looking for just the right places to call their own.

Heathcliff and Alani: Heathcliff is 6 years old, sweet and somewhat chatty. His friend Alani is 3 years old and just as sweet. The two are bonded, so a home for the two together is sought. They love people, attention, and being petted and brushed. They enjoy chasing wand toys but are equally happy hanging out by someone’s side, or, in Alani’s case, a lap.

Skittles: Skittles, 2 years old, was abandoned along with a note saying, “Please take Skittles, she keeps having babies.” She had her final litter in September 2017. Although her kittens all found homes, Skittles is still waiting for hers. She was adopted once, but her inclination to attack people’s ankles and feet when they got close to her landed her back in rescue. With a little patience and training, she can overcome that habit. Outside of that, she is a loving, playful lap cat. She’s a bit overweight and could use some exercise. Regular play and exercise, which she enjoys, will help her achieve her goal. She’s not fond of other cats so should be the only one in her home.

Gina: Four-year-old Gina is quite the talker. She can be seen at the Irvine Petco. She loves petting and brushing, rubbing on people’s legs and lying next to them. She adores her catnip toys and will roll around on them and toss them in the air. She also enjoys wand toys and climbing on her cat tree. Gina also would prefer to be an only cat. She is FIV positive, so has a weaker-than-normal immune system. However, that doesn’t mean she can’t live a long, happy life.
