Cravings Food Village, an Asian-inspired food hall, opens in Chino
Cravings Food Village, an Asian-inspired food hall/warehouse-style supermarket with a hip, communal vibe, opened its first Inland Empire store at Chino Spectrum Marketplace this week. The former Food 4 Less grocery store site at 4024 Grand Ave. includes multiple dining spaces, a hot deli, and a modern Taiwanese bakery.
At first glance, the nine eateries don’t look particularly Asian, only in simplicity. That all changes if you look beyond the thin table railing dividing the warehouse space to where the retail space is filled with international goods.
The all-Asian food hall by 99 Ranch Market has its grand opening Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018.
“I’ve been waiting for this day since Food 4 less closed,” Chino Hills resident Martin Rodriguez said as he sat on a Tenori barstool holding his 3-year-old daughter Alyssa. They munched on Wingman Kitchen’s chicken wings.
Several other visitors remembered when Chino Hills had only two Asian restaurants, about 15 years ago, many of those cited Asian food as their favorite.
