Search for missing kayaker at Lake Elsinore continues
A man believed to have been kayaking on Lake Elsinore remained missing Wednesday, Oct. 24, despite efforts to locate him that have included a Riverside County sheriff’s bloodhound and dive team.
Samuel Selay, 34, of French Valley, was last seen Oct. 20. He may have entered the water at Elk Grove Beach on Lakeshore Drive in a bright orange kayak. Selay’s car was found near the lake, and his kayak has been located as well, said Deputy Robyn Flores, a sheriff’s spokeswoman.
In addition to using the bloodhound and dive team, the Sheriff’s Department has used ATVs and boats to search the lake and has reviewed surveillance video from nearby businesses, Flores said.
