The ornaments will be hung on a Christmas tree at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda. The tree will be on display at the library through early January, said retired Air Force Colonel Wayne Scott, organizer of the event.
“It’s very, very important to them that their loved ones are remembered,” he said.
After the holidays, the ornaments will be mailed to the families.
The ceremony also paid tribute to all veterans and the families of those now serving in the military.
