Woman’s body found wrapped in plastic in car; Whittier man arrested
WHITTIER — A man was arrested Sunday on suspicion he killed a woman, wrapped her in plastic and stored her on the back seat of his car in unincorporated Whittier, a deputy said.
The body of the woman, believed to be in her 40s, was discovered in the back seat of a vehicle owned by Luis Rey Jimenez-Jimenez in the driveway of his residence in the 8700 block of Orange Street at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Dangelo Robinson.
Detectives said they believe the woman was killed a week ago by Jimenez-Jimenez.
She suffered blunt force trauma to her head, Robinson said.
The woman’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Deputies made the discovery during a welfare check on the woman, who lives at the location, Deputy Tracy Koerner said.
Jimenez-Jimenez was booked on suspicion of murder and held in lieu of $2 million bail.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at Downey Superior court, Robinson said.
