Man shot on Christmas Eve in Anaheim alleyway dies in hospital

A man who was shot in Anaheim on Christmas Eve died in a hospital on Monday, Jan. 7.

The victim had been hospitalized after he was struck by gunfire in an alleyway near the 500 block of Sabina Street on Monday, Dec. 24. He succumbed to his injuries two weeks later on Monday morning, according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Jeff Mundy. He described the victim as a man in his 40s.

Police had not publicly identified or described any potential suspects as of Monday evening, said Mundy. He said detectives suspect the shooting may have been gang-related.

Information regarding the identity of the man who was shot was not immediately released.
