Audience is judge at international playwriting festival in San Juan Capistrano

ShowOff! International Playwriting Festival is back at Camino Real Playhouse in San Juan Capistrano through Jan. 20, with seven short plays voted on by the audience.

As the audience, you only see the top seven and nightly you will also hear one of the runner-up plays read as a “Reader’s Theater.”

ShowOff! 2019 Finalists Playwrights include “Bless Me Father. Have I Sinned?” by Jim May; “Cliché” by Keith Whalen; “Girls Don’t Rob Banks” by Jim Gustafson; “The Mission” by Joe Godfrey; “Noir Man” by Ken Levine; “Suspension of Disbelief” by Collin James and “Unbound” by William Hector.

Regular tickets: $27, cabaret tables: $37; available at caminorealplayhouse.org.  Suitable for teenagers to adult.
