Garden Grove firefighters rescued a woman who was pinned beneath a vehicle that struck her at a gas station on Saturday, Jan. 26.

Crews used hydraulic jacks to lift the vehicle off of the woman in the lot of the Arco Service Station at 12931 Garden Grove Blvd., said Garden Grove Fire Capt. Thanh Nguyen. The collision happened at about 10:45 p.m., according to a news release from the Garden Grove Police Department.

Once freed, she was treated by paramedics and then transported to UCI Medical Center, according to the release. It said she was recovering at the hospital Monday evening and was listed in critical, but stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision was interviewed at the scene by police and showed no signs of impairment, said the release. No arrests had been made in the incident as of Monday evening, but an investigation into the cause of the crash was ongoing.

Officers asked any potential witnesses to the collision to contact traffic investigator Paul Ashby at 714-741-5823.
