San Juan Capistrano Car Show canceled due to wet fields at the Sportspark

The 16th annual San Juan Capistrano Car Show, rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 9, has been canceled, according to the San Juan Capistrano Rotary Club, which posted this notice on its website:

The 2019 San Juan Capistrano Rotary Car Show has been canceled. Due to heavy rains and our very unique venue on the fields at the San Juan Capistrano Sportspark, we have decided that the fields are too wet and muddy for the event to be held on February 9, 2019. Thank you for your support of our event. If you are pre-registered for the event and have not received information regarding your pre-paid entry fee, please email us at sjccarshow@gmail.com for additional information or contact our Car Show Committee at (949) 463-2939.

The show, originally set for Feb. 2 and rescheduled due to inclement weather, regularly drew some 1,000 car enthusiasts to the San Juan Community Center/Sports Park. It was expected to feature about 400 classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. The motorcycle poker run scheduled to precede the show also has been canceled.
